Mr. Lemons has extensive experience in all facets of Landscape Architecture.
Currently, his primary emphasis is in outdoor athletic and recreational
facilities, including tennis courts, running tracks with the associated
field events, football, lacrosse and soccer fields, softball, baseball,
basketball, in-line hockey and playgrounds. His knowledge of the design
of synthetic and natural turf fields has proved him to be unsurpassed
in the local area by many owners.
Mr. Lemons has a demonstrated record of providing significant cost
savings to his clients through conservative and functional design,
quality control and continual field inspections. He has worked on
projects as small as tot-lot playgrounds up to stadium renovations
with synthetic turf. Construction budgets for such projects range
from $50,000 to over $3 million. Mr. Lemons’ knowledge and experience
in these fields has allowed him to serve as an expert witness in a
court of law.
In 2001, Mr. Lemons was asked to participate, along with other design
professionals, independent testing laboratories, and industry experts
from around the country, to create a document to improve the quality
and performance of the newest synthetic turf systems. This document,
and resulting discussions over a nine month period, eventually led
to the formation of the Synthetic Turf Council (STC) in 2003. As a
founding member of the Synthetic Turf Council, Mr. Lemons had the
opportunity to serve on the Advisory Board and is currently an active
Board Member on the Business Practices Task Force of the Synthetic
Turf Council.
Mr. Lemons is also an active member of the American Sports Builders
Association (ASBA), and has been published in their newsletters and
appeared as a speaker at numerous Technical Meetings and also for
the Michigan School Business Officials Conferences. He has also co-authored
articles published in the “Athletic Business” magazine
with regards to track design and all-weather synthetic surfacing,
and has been a guest speaker at the Michigan Sports Turf Managers
Association technical meeting(s).
